Primary Focus:

Couples Therapy in SC | Rebuilding Trust, Communication, and Connection.

If you’re searching for couples therapy, you may be feeling disconnected, stuck in the same arguments, or struggling to rebuild trust.

Many couples I work with come in because:

  • Communication keeps breaking down
  • Conflicts repeat without resolution
  • Emotional or physical distance has grown
  • Trust has been impacted by infidelity or betrayal

Even strong relationships can fall into painful patterns over time.

As a couples therapist, I help partners understand what’s happening beneath these patterns and learn how to reconnect in a way that feels safe, honest, and lasting.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—a research-backed approach to couples therapy—we work together to:

  • Identify and shift negative relationship cycles
  • Rebuild trust after infidelity or betrayal
  • Improve communication and emotional safety
  • Strengthen connection and intimacy

This process helps each partner feel seen, understood, and valued, creating a more secure and connected relationship.

Working with Lauren was an incredibly positive experience! She expresses empathy and compassion in each session which allows for her clients to really feel seen. Her supportive approach made it easy to be open about experiences that normally are not easy to share.

She worked with me to decide our direction for each session and paid great attention to what I was feeling throughout. She was so great it has made it difficult to find a new therapist after moving states!

Compassion is at the core of my approach.

My Beliefs & Values:

I value an empathetic, down-to-earth attitude, treating you as an equal partner in the therapeutic process.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. You have lived through and coped with experiences that have brought you where you are today. Therapy is an opportunity to look inwards, increase acceptance and consider change.

Why I Became A Therapist

Although I studied international business in college, I felt drawn to work that offered deeper meaning and purpose. Throughout my life, I’ve been naturally inclined to help people understand one another, believing that when people feel truly seen and understood, they’re better able to connect and feel at ease within themselves.

I also noticed something personal: when the people I cared about struggled in their relationships, it affected me deeply, and when they found their way back to connection, I felt that too. My clinical experience includes supporting survivors of sexual trauma in a university setting and working in a teaching hospital specialty clinic with trauma and sleep-related challenges, which shaped my ability to work with complex emotions.

My path as a couples therapist became clear when I witnessed how some of the most important people in my life struggled with betrayal and infidelity—experiences that gave me a deep respect for how complex relationships can be and how possible it is to heal, rebuild trust, and grow stronger.

Today, I help couples and individuals better understand themselves and each other, make sense of their experiences, and reconnect in their relationships, as the struggles of those I love became the purpose that drives me to help others do the same.

What to Expect in Therapy

My years of experience working with young to middle-aged women and couples helped me hone an evidence-based, adaptable approach to therapy.

  • First, we establish a safe and supportive space built on mutual trust and respect.
  • Then, we’ll establish goals to help you move toward what matters to you.
  • We will discuss what evidence-based therapies are appropriate and you will consider the path that is right for you.
  • Throughout therapy, we will discuss your progress and expectations to make sure we are on the right track and the same page.

My goal is that these steps seamlessly fall into the background of the rich experience of each session.

Here's where your therapy sessions will take place.

Unless you opt for online therapy, of course.
